Rick has many years of experience as a monk, so he has a deep understanding of Eastern Zen philosophy and is also familiar with printing, typesetting, and photography. Maria is a renowned calligrapher and botanical illustrator.

In today's busy and high-pressure life, they hope to use Zentangle, a simple and beautiful art form, to allow more people to relieve stress and enjoy the fun of creation!

Rick and Maria began promoting Zentangle art in 2004, conducting numerous workshops for various organizations in the United States and successfully applying it to schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and mental health facilities. Since 2009, they have been organizing the CZT Seminars (Certified Zentangle Teacher Seminars), which attract many Zentangle enthusiasts from around the world each year.
